BlueCHP has improved the efficiency and accuracy of its affordable housing delivery operations by adopting Unifi’s project management software and integrating EMS Solutions’ Basic Compliance platform.
BlueCHP, a not-for-profit Tier 1 community housing provider, works to facilitate social, affordable and disability housing in Eastern Australia and supports over 2,000 people. With increasing demand for its services, the organization sought to upgrade its previous methods of managing projects and information.
manual processes
Previously, BlueCHP relied on manual processes involving spreadsheets and email chains. This approach created challenges including version control issues, incompatibility, and limited visibility over project information. There were concerns that such inefficiencies could impact workload management as the customer base and project scale increased.
To address these issues, BlueCHP partnered with UniPhi in 2023. UniPhi deployed its cloud-based software to centralize document management, project coordination and communications across the organization.
Glenn Amanonce, BlueCHP’s development director, said the implementation brought greater clarity and improved management efficiency.
“Unifi software gives us instant visibility into our entire project portfolio, from contract progress to supplier claims,” said Glenn Amanonce, BlueCHP Development Director.
cloud-based transformation
The new system provided real-time tracking of growth, streamlined invoice approval workflow and supported better revenue reporting. UniPhi also provided a development plan dashboard for BlueCHP’s board, allowing decision makers to quickly access project details.
According to BlueCHP, this change has significantly reduced the administrative workload. All projects and contracts are now accessible from a single platform, making information management more simplified and the risk of errors reduced.
In addition to increasing internal efficiencies, the partnership resulted in more reliable reporting of data such as beds delivered, area-specific accommodation and overall project statuses. BlueCHP saw a reduction in the need for assumptions and estimates about progress indicators.
Integration with BASIC
EMS Solutions, a software development company specializing in community housing and power projects, contributed to the project by integrating its own software-Basics with Unifi’s platform. BASIX provides the compliance and financial management capabilities needed for BlueCHP to meet regulatory requirements, and its integration ensures efficient data flow between the systems.
This has resulted in the elimination of information duplication and inaccurate reporting while supporting compliance and consistency in BlueCHP’s operations.
Unifi Chief Executive Officer Mark Heath commented on the scope and importance of the digital overhaul.
“BlueCHP is proof that nonprofit housing providers can embrace digital transformation without compromising accountability or control. Transparency leads to innovation and BlueCHP is proof of that. We are incredibly proud to support their mission”.
Integration with BASIX ensured that all compliance data is current and accurate, and the data can be accessed by authorized staff as needed. According to BlueCHP, the transition to a cloud-based system has improved data reliability, increased employee confidence, expedited payments, and clarified project tracking.
staff experience
Glenn Amanonce, BlueCHP’s development director, described the impact of the new processes on day-to-day operations.
“It has completely changed the way we manage information and make decisions.”
With the support provided by EMS Solutions and the adoption of Unifi’s software, BlueCHP reports that managing information is more clear and accessible than before. The team can now increase project volume and complexity while meeting both operational and compliance needs.
The integration of systems and improved real-time data access were cited as key factors in helping BlueCHP deliver housing for people of different ages, abilities and life stages, as part of its ongoing commitment to social and accessible housing solutions in Australia.
